I was surprised when I found this today.

Whoa.
What he said. Prayers to her loved ones.
Did anyone listen this morning? Did KOMO radio do much coverage? Anything from her long time co-anchor Hersholt?
Just truly stunning, and I hope they had a nice package to honor her memory. She'd only been at KOMO for five years, but did sixteen before that at KIRO. Everyone had listened to Jane Shannon.
Do you happen to know anything about how she got started or where she got started? I heard something on KIRO radio about how Dori Monson played a role in hiring her at KING radio (or something to that effect) but I did not catch all of the details.
From the story linked in the OP..."An Oregon native, Shannon started her radio career at KITI in Centralia, where she was an anchor and the news director. Before coming to KOMO News Radio in 2010, Shannon worked at KXXO-FM in Olympia, KING AM in Seattle, and was a Morning News co-host at KIRO."
Q13 reports her death was due to natural causes. Staffers became concerned when she didn't show up for work Thursday. http://q13fox.com/2015/08/21/beloved-broadcast-journalist-jane-shannon-passes-away/
