Brock and Salk vs. Seattle Times: Jack Z.

Just wanted to give a huge shout out to Geoff Baker and the entire staff at The Seattle Times.

When word broke at 8:24 this morning that Jack Zduriencik had been fired, Brock Huard and Mike Salk were quick to set the tone that Jack was a really nice guy who made some bad decisions and deserved to get fired, but he was still a nice guy.

Then at about 5:04 this afternoon, Geoff and the Times staff turned the tables and printed new articles and reprinted old articles that showed Zduriencik to be a gutless coward who constantly threw his staff under the bus and refused to accept blame for his mistakes.

So thumbs up to the entire Times sports staff.

Not sure what the point is here.

Well it seems all the local sports hosts, both KJR and KIRO, had kind words to say about Jack Z as a person--while trashing his work as a GM. That's not shocking, because Jack Z was pretty available to the media and treated them well. The guy the local shows gave both barrels to was Howard Lincoln, who's virtually invisible to the local media.
