Yakima - You've got Alternative music!

106.9 K295BT Yakima flipped from ESPN Deportes to X-FM this week. X-FM is an alternative rock station which is a relay of a KHHK HD subchannel. From what I heard this morning (but it may have been due to the gusty winds), KTCR-980 was an open carrier with low power (100 watts?). K295BT is going to be competing with KATS for ratings.
1390 is still all the way off. I can hear KZZD Salem, OR (Regional Mexican) at night now, and some HD hash from KRKO-1380 up in Everett.

Oh, I know, I've been elated when I heard it for the first time a few weeks back. I have been begging for some alternative radio since KYVT shifted to NPR talk. Yeah, KNWY has it's HD2, which is cute, but I wanted a KNDD-style station. Looks like we have one. Though, KFFM sure makes a lot of noise, I can hardly get it on proper FM in south Selah, I have to use the HD3 feed on KHHK most of the time.

...for now.

Going through Selah, many Yakima stations turn into noise. KDBL definitely turns into almost nothing as you drive past exit 29 on I-82. KXLE becomes a strong signal and so does KXAA.

True, that said 105.7 can be heard all the way to Packwood. Are they up on Bethel or nearby? Glad to hear classic rock back since U-rock left town.

105.7 is on the ridge just north of Yakima, just like KXDD. No one is on Bethel Ridge.

If you click on 960am.com (KALE) it redirects you to the 106.9 webpage. I called the Kennewick office of Jones radio and they said 960 flipped to ESPN (Spanish) and they haven't updated the page yet (since Sept)
