Yesterday at around 9 they played Elvis Crespo song Suavemente. Was kinda funny.

On another subject 87.9 was playing secular regional music today mostly Banda music .

¿Usted no sabe, Señor Tejano? Es la nueva estacion por Houston, 97-9 La Caja!

That's outstanding, actually. La Caja had gotten firmly implanted into a rut, musically. I mean, it's apparently a money making machine, that rates very highly from month to month for the last number of years, but being cornered in by its two sisters has done 97-9 no favors. I would be very impressed if Radio One continues this trend and adds more tracks like this, that doesn't necessarily fit "the mold" of what La Caja has become.

How long did they keep the LA MERA MERA format on 92.1? And what did they do wrong that it didn't last? I personally enjoyed it more that 102.9 Estereo Latino.

La Mera Mera lasted all of 21 months, from late September 2004 to mid-July of 2006 IIRC. It followed a two week "90's and more" stunt and was in turn replaced by Praise 92.1.

David Eduardo can better explain the reasons for the format failure.

A similar thing might be said of their failed news operation. Internal issues related to a company that was not committed or experienced in news broadcasting.
