Artie Lange + Stuttering John Discuss Howard Stern

Why doesn't he just go back to terrestrial radio then? He claimed he was going to satellite, because he couldn't do bits anymore that he used to do.

Most of Sterns bit was trying to walk the line of the FCC and do just enough to not cross it. I think with him on satellite he lost that challenge of being shocking. I don't think he has fun not breaking the rules that he did on terrestrial radio. He will go where ever the money is. Im sure there are a lot of syndicators that would love to grab him.

Stern's show never has had anything to do with crossing any lines and I don't think he ever intentionally set out to be shocking. I believe he always set out to be REAL and talk about and do whatever was on his mind while entertaining. He sounds just fine on satellite. He is more developed, more polished, and perhaps just slightly more mature now, but he still enjoys slipping into less mature discussions and bits and is every bit as entertaining and funny today as he was back in 1983 when I started listening.

First of all, he's only does 3 days a week. How can you say he's just as entertaining? I said he should go back to terrestrial radio, because he'd have more listeners then.

Wow Howard's only working part time radio. A friend told me once that Part timers in radio are treated better than full time. Maybe he'll drop radio for TV eventually.

If I could afford to work three days a week, I would too...nothing wrong with that. Most of the summer, Stern actually worked more than three days a week..three days on SXM plus two or more days on AGT.

Because he would be a spectacular failure and wouldn't get SiriusXM money. He's more interested in being friends with his Hamptons crowd than he is in doing good radio. It's been that way since he moved to Sirius.
