Why is Meredith looking for a Morning Weather Anchor?

It may be a moot point since it looks like Media General will assume the ownership of both stations.
That deal is nowhere near done. Investors are in an uproar, Nexstar has come into play... It is rapidly becoming corporate drama.
When you add Starboard Value, the company that pushed Olive Garden to serve fewer breadsticks, into any picture, it becomes far more volatile.

April Warnecke has been gone for the past week. Quick Facebook check and she had foot surgery. I haven't been watching GMAZ as much and don't know if the anchors have been mentioning why April has been away or that Rich Dahlquist is in for April.
Maybe it's for CBS5, since Katie Baker hosts the Noon News and they might want her to concentrate on more anchor responsibilities.

Not today. Noon anchor was a new guy (weather girl referred to him as having a hot introduction to the Valley weather) and he didn't know how to pronounce "Encanto".
That would be Carlos Diaz. I mentioned it in another thread. He literally arrived in the area on Monday from Vegas. He didn't even have a card key to get into the parking lot or building on Monday morning. So, it doesn't surprise me that he didn't pronounce "Encanto" correctly (and let's not get into a "Vanessa Ruiz" type conversation here).
Perhaps Katie is leaving like everyone else...
I watched/listened to the Noon News today (9/30) and heard Carlos say "Encanto." I wondered if he was corrected during a commercial break. Must be tough coming into a new area and getting tripped up on names i.e. the Mogollon Rim. Also, I thought Carlos read the news fast and he tripped up on several words.
Yes, he does need to slow down and take a breath once in a while.
And what the hell.....no one pronounces Mogollon correctly. It should be MUGGY-own but almost everyone says muggy-ON. Oh well, at least it isn't kasa-GRRRRAND-ay.

Sort of like Nevada or Oregon. If I hear OR-EE-GONE one more time (instead of OR-GUN), I'm going to scream!!
Her last day is today. Per her Facebook page, she wants to concentrate on raising her kids.
