What Happened to KRKE - 94-5 The 80's Channel ?

94.5 has flipped to EDM. What happened to the 80's Channel?

As the consultant who programmed KRKE, I can answer this but have to leave out some details which must remain proprietary.

94.5 (translator K233CG) had been leased from EMF to simulcast 1550 KRKE. The AM is being sold and the translator lease ended Wednesday.

There are internal reasons for the station sale which are unrelated to its performance.

Negotiations are in progress by KRKE's former owner to bring the format back on another signal in ABQ, possibly as soon as January. I am not an active participant in those discussions but have agreed to consult any such new station.

Thanks for noticing!

Martha Whitman has sold 94.5 to Cumulus for $425,000. 94.5 will now relay 770 KKOB.
