Tyler-Longview KOOI and KEES

KOOI - Seems that 106.5 has changed formats again. No longer classic hits. Sounds very much like 93.1 to me.
KEES - 1430 is back on the air and their audio sounds better than it has in years. Still running the black gospel format.

Just wondering what format you think KOOI is? I've never figured it out. KDOK is still Classic Hits and I'm not planning any changes. Should I?

I listened to KOOI for a while today. I guess it is AC, but it was a bit hard to tell. I see they still have John Tesh in the morning and still call themselves "Sunny 106.5." That's not what I would have done, but who am I to say. They make a lot more money than I do. :)

The "Sunny" moniker needs to die. Yesterday.

And in response to your question of changing KDOK....uuuuhhhh, no. I listened for a few hours last night online and I loved it.

BTW...who's the "new" voice guy? Sounds like the same one who voiced on KVNE. (Loved the "crap" liner, too!)

I heard Rihanna's "SOS" a few days ago on Sunny 106. It seems they are shifting back to AC or have been adding much more recent songs from the 2000's and early 2010's into the mix of classic hits.

I'm glad KEES is back on the air but their audio sounds very tinny. At least I heard a Top of the hour ID a few days ago. And KFRO-AM's old transmitter is failing again.. audio is getting weaker and distorted.

KDOK sounds great, I'm glad you're adding more 60's. But I'd update the liners, some have become shopworn with me after 2 years.

New liners are in the pipeline. You are right, it is time.

I forgot to mention Bob Michaels, who does the "If you ever had...." teasers. Jeff Lawrence did the "Crap" liner...

You should do some liners too, Chuck. You'd probably be good at it.

It sounds to me like KOOI has dumped classic hits and returned to AC, but its a lot more upbeat than the old Sunny was.
