I don't know why Nurse Jeff and I didn't think of this years ago. It's darned close to being brilliant!

Each year in honor of Preston Westmoreland, we ask readers of this drivel to guess when the Valley will have it's first 100 degree day. Crappy prizes for a crappy contest. Now, we've come up with something that's more fantastic than AM hi-def radio: Guess the Valley's LAST 100 degree day of the year! Yes indeedy, if your guess nails the date you'll be more famous than the nearly famous Barry Young.

So get ready to get your guess in, as our supply of crappy prizes is limited.

Have we found out the whereabouts of KOOL listener Lauren yet? I eagerly await her take on the fabulous Gremlin joyride around Buckeye, and how gentlemanly the two of you are in person. You can only learn so much about a person based on their typing etiquette, and I'd love to hear the first-hand account of the greatest two hours one can possibly spend in the badlands of Arizona. Sure hope you guys ran into catfish (lower case "c") somewhere along the journey. The anticipation of having his autograph grace my fine collection is driving me to drink heavily, and certainly would be the proverbial cherry on my sundae.

Anywhos, given my prior winnings in the name the price contest for Mickey's former Tempe digs, am I eligible to play?

I have no family currently employed within the hallowed halls of the Buckeye Media Hut, but it has been less than 90 days since my last contest win.

If so, I'll take October 16th, 2015. Yes, I know...two days away. I think your mercury is about to get somewhat of a rest now that we're approaching "winter" down here. We'll be touching 95° today in Houston, so we're not too far behind you. Would you believe that our weathermen (and women) are making a huge deal about our humidity/dew point actually being LOWER than Phoenix today and tomorrow??

Whoopee! Dry weather...where's my Vaseline?
 
In the hopes that the Jeff-Mo bag has a bottle of RC (bottled by the good guys at Kalil) and a stale bag of Clover Club potato chips inside, I'll put November 1 in the (Dewey) hopper.

Of course, in the Gremlin, every seat is a lucky seat. As in lucky to be alive.
 
Hit 100 today, but darned if I know the Dewey point! Keep those guesses coming in as we're only half way finished with October.


btw - anyone know if KOOL is still playing Air Uh Zone Ah by Mark Lindsay? The Nurse and I've never heard it on Lumberyard 14~Forty. hmmmm...perhaps we should start a petition to get the Goldminers to add it?
