New Country Station coming?

That most likely means KHHL Karnes City, which rimshots San Antonio from the South.
It's interesting that 92.1 KCAF Kennedy is known as the "No Bull Radio" network, and KHHL is right in it's coverage area too.

Right now KHHL is playing ESPN Deportes at last check. The audio sounds tinny or something. http://sndup.net/5fq8/a

I mean, where it covers, country will do fine. The problem with the potential "thebullsa"...

...is that 103-1 The Bull won't reach "sa".

How about with a translator? I have no idea which it would use, if it does use one.

I remember The Armadillo! Their run was way too short. I thought they were well programmed and seemed to be a trend setter for what would later be called Young Country, but the station really had a distinct feel to it. I spent lots of time in the car visiting clients from Boerne to Fredericksburg to Kerrville back then. I listened to KFAN in Fredericksburg (in their early days) and The Armadillo quite a bit.

103-3 would be the most sensible.

It makes sense but the Alpha team in SA is rather weak.

IMO, Alpha Media should pull the simulcast off of 94.5 & 107.1, and put a format that will help the cluster such a Hot AC, Country, Rhythmic AC, Classic Rock, etc. But the word, "aggressive" doesn't exist at Alpha SA.

Hey saradio, you should be charging for your services.

You had it here first.

So iHeartMedia is fighting over the Bull name with Alpha, apparently. https://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/netgnomes/95027/bull-battle-breaking-out-in-san-antonio/

They supposedly want to use it for 92.5/93.3 which is currently classic country and not doing well (both stations have crappy audio when compared to 104.9, so is this the reason?)

If Alpha or iHeart does flip 103.1 or 92.5/93.3 to another form of country programming, I think they should play local Texas country. We already have two mainstream country stations and one classic country station. Whoever is starting this new one should do something different... But that might be just me coming up with ideas.

There's a joke somewhere in here...but I love my San Antonian friends too much, so I'll just leave it alone...

More proof Alpha Media SA is a joke.

Iheart beat them to the punch. 92.5/93.3 is now The Bull.

From Radioinsight-

iHeartMedia stuck first as Classic Country “92.5/93.3 K-BUC” KRPT Devine/K227BH San Antonio rebranded as “The Bull” this morning. No changes in content at the station, which runs the Premium Choice Classic Country feed around the clock.

Yeah, I noticed that earlier today. Is that the first classic country Bull in the US? Usually The Bull is modern.

TheBullSA.com still is up, though, so is Alpha just late in taking it down or are they planning to go with it anyway? And Alpha still hasn't fixed the terrible audio of 103.1!!! They need to just sell that station.
