Howie Carr's Open Gun Policy.

Two words regarding Howie Carr's radical gun policy that he is currently spouting on his talk jock show: Alan Berg.

Be careful what you wish for. God forbid anything would happen but gun controls are necessary to protect even the lives of right-wing talkers. May not agree with him on much but his personal safety should be important to all.

Yeah, how'd that work out at Umpqua?

I remember Gene Burns wondering if lives could
have been saved if someone carrying a weapon
could have shot Colin Ferguson when he started
his shooting spree on the Long Island Railroad.

Ban guns?When celebrities and politicians
disarm their bodyguards,that'll be a start...the
folks who scream the loudest for gun control.Of
course they wouldn't be subject to such laws,
only ordinary people would. And why stop
there? Get the government to ban violent
movies too. After all if the people are too stupid
to be trusted with the 2nd Amendment, why
trust them with the First?

For those who do not know or remember, Alan Berg was a talk host in Denver at KOA. He was assassinated in the garage of his apartment by a crazy anti-Semite.

The sooner we make it more difficult for people to obtain assault weapons the more hurdles crazy people will have to go through to try to get them. That will save lives. The fact that it's so easy now and there are so many mass shootings (and almost none anywhere else in the industrialized world) is indicative of the disaster that guns-everywhere policy has been for the United States.

Make it more difficult for crazy people to get guns...sure! Everybody is on your side!

Make it more difficult for law abiding folks....? That's the problem.

All you have to do is look at New Orleans in the midst of general lawlessness, where even the police couldn't help you, and you will realize what a problem it is to make it difficult (or impossible) for law-abiding people to own a gun.

Consider how many hurdles and how hard we have made it to get heroin, pot, and a number of other things....and you realize that the bad guys will still get and have guns...while the rest of the law-abiding population is unable to defend themselves.

Listening to Howie's book Killers on audio;in
addition to characters inspired by the likes of
Jerry Anguilo("lives in Nahant, son named Jason,
'I don't need tough guys,I need intelligent tough
guys'"),there are a couple characters named
after real life radio people. An ex FBI agent is
Tom Taylor, as in "Tom Taylor Now";another
character is Carberry.Howie's syndication
contact is Ken Carberry.

Correction: "Kurt" Carberry.

Nice passive aggressive threat. We get it. You don't like Howie.

Thanks; there's a Ken and a Curt I think and I must have gotten wrong one (father and son?)

No they are brothers. Their father was a popular local DJ in the 50's and 60's who worked under the name Ken Carter. He went on to own an operate WROL and WHOM in New Hampshire.

Ken who is a practicing Attorney, is partners with Jordan Rich in CHART Productions and has done air shifts at WBOS and WSSH.You can hear him doing the voice over on several local commercials. For years, he was the back up PA announcer for Sherm Feller at Fenway and ran the scoreboard.

Kurt owns WRCN and a media buying agency that buys infomercial time. One of his biggest clients is Purity Products.

There are so many people involved with Howie Carr, I am not sure what they all do. There is Bruce Mittman, Kurt Carbury, Barry Armstrong, Jason Wolfe..
