The following songs have been added to KONO's playlist, they've also decided to bring back a few older songs that hadn't been played in some recent years. I'm also looking to find out which songs they've dropped from their playlist;

I wonder why the sudden change of wanting to play more 80's music, could it have anything to do with the fact that more classic hits listeners are wanting to hear more 80's music, according to this article I found recently that may be true. Classic Hits is the format of the summer and they found that a majority of popular songs were from that decade among listeners. Very interesting going from hearing Frankie Valli one minute and new wave music the next, but that's why this station rules.

Additional note; I dislike the "Now playing the greatest hits on Earth" sweeper, I thought I was listening to KRTH 101.1 in Los Angeles when I heard that and immediately looked at my radio display to make sure I wasn't going crazy. They need to stick to San Antonio's Greatest Hits.

Doesn't magic still hold on to something 80's? Maybe those will all go bye bye now, I hope.

The only 80's songs left on Magic 105.3 are The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson, This Promise by When in Rome, and Red Red Wine by UB40, everything else that they use to play from the 70's and 80's is on KONO. Red Red Wine plays on KONO regularly, but I wouldn't be surprised if they moved the remaining songs to KONO and their sister station Magic 105.3 dropped them entirely.

Speaking of sisters stations, if you were to take the 70's and 80's pop hits from Magic 105.3's playlist 10 years ago, the disco and soul hits from 106.7 Jamz old playlist and some of 106.7 The Eagles current classic rock playlist and smashed together with a few oldies from the old KONO 101.1 you'd get the current "San Antonio's Greatest Hits" haha.

Jack FM 102.7 also plays some 80's music. So does Q 101.9.

Someone that was 18 in 1983-1985 would now be 48-50 so it's not surprising that there's more 80's. Even if you were to add some New Kids On The Block titles, Black Velvet from Alannah Myles and several others I think they'd test well. Your mileage may vary.
