Can you hear oldies on any HD-2 or 3

I was just curious are there any side HD signals in the NYC market where you can hear classic oldies. In other cities where oldies died an HD-2 or 3 picked the format up eg. WMGK HD-2 in Philly or KLUV-HD-2 in Dallas, or is NYC without an oldies outlet..
 
I don't think any HD signals in New York carry a traditional oldies format. It would be a natural for CBS FM, but they carry CBS Sports Radio. I'm sure they have very few,if any listeners. KRTH in LA runs Classic Oldies on their HD channel. Problem is,nobody seems to care what is on HD.

And receivers are becoming increasingly hard to find. None at Walmart or Best Buy, two of the biggest surviving big-box stores, nor at what remains of Radio Shack.
 
That's sad, I know insignia was committed to HD at one time I still have a Grundig, jvc and in my new Taurus ford HD which is better than free satellite at times. Looks like new cars are the only place that HD radio is thriving. Why is HD radio failing any ideas because it seems like the salvation of terrestrial radio, so why no interest. If it was forced on the public like HD television it might of caught on.
 
KGLK Lake Jackson (rimshot serving Houston TX) has been running it's previous Oldies format on their HD2 channel for a few years now. Unfortunately they don't stream online. I don't understand why that is
 
It certainly would make sense to have an oldies station in NYC at 101.1 HD2 which would sound like WCBS-FM in its glory days. What is the sense of rebroadcasting News 880. I have a TEC HD table radio that I bought in 2011. It is a shame that HD radio failed as HD2 and HD3 stations could air formats that have "died".

Same situation in Connecticut. WDRC-FM has been running oldies on HD2 for several years, under three ownership groups. No streaming.
 
Going through some of the HD offerings in Boston. An Irish Channel, Smooth Jazz, Standards, Oldies,etc. Why isn't a "classic" CBS FM HD channel on in Mew York? With new cars offering HD, maybe there will be some interest in what is on the HD channels..and somebody will actually care to program them?
 
In a large market, HD has a chance of getting minuscule ratings. In medium and small markets, you can attach a translator to your HD, and create a new analog station.

Depending on the geography, and ducting issues. Some of these stations show some success, or serve a town with a format that can take some points from a competitor without investing in a full signal.

Other than that, HD is useless at this time. It will take the support of vendors, and the public education to be viable.

Also licensing, and equipment costs will need to come down for smaller markets to adapt. Keep in mind, it took analog FM years to be accepted by the public (and the decline of AM).
 
I am currently on a cross country train trip from LA to Fla. I brought along my Insignia HD Radio. I haven t used it in quite some time. I am amazed at some of the offerings..mostly defunct formats like smooth jazz, older oldies,classic country and standards. KTWV in LA runs traditional smooth jazz on their HD channel and KRTH runs classic oldies on their channel. As mentioned in Dallas 100.3 runs a great standards format. I received the station for about three hours just South of Fort Worth to 40 miles North of Dallas. With nice ear buds the sound is great. I hope HD stations survive. It s a nice alternative to using data on your phone.
 
Here in Phoenix KOOL-FM airs their "70's" channel on HD2 as does KAZG-AM on both 92.7 and 93.3 HD2.
