Jonesys Jukebox debuts on KLOS tomorrow.

Well...this *IS* KLOS. The fact that they're trying to appeal to former Indie 103 listeners seems strange to me, but what do I know?

The real question is, will anyone even realize the show has resurfaced after being tossed out by KROQ 2½ years ago?

As for James' question ... Fridays noon to 2:00pm was the original timeslot for "Jukebox" on Indie.

Interesting move by cumulus.
Time will tell but can't hurt.

Well actually, yes it can.

As a music fan I think it is great, but from a station management and programming point of view, this feels like a desperate attempt to try anything. Now if they really want to bring back a Friday tradition, they should bring back Geno Mitchilini and his Todd Rungren and Jimmy Buffett records. I am sure more KLOS listeners remember him than Indie's Jonsey even after all of these years.

This wasnt great timing.

He has 3 weeks to make a serious dent in bringing new listeners,
KOST 103 pulls from alot of stations during the holidays.

They should have heavily promoted this during morning and afternoon drive time during the holidays and brought it back beginning of January , so he isnt squeezed during the holiday rush time.

Knowing KLOS, they'll send him show notes after he hits the air. Does anyone remember the original Jonesy's Jukebox on Indie? He would breathe heavily into the mic on the air and allow a good amount of dead air. Awesome stuff, but they'd never allow that on KLOS!

Up until a couple years ago, Geno was still producing a weekly podcast patterned somewhat after his old KLOS feature program, so he's still kicking around somewhere, if KLOS wanted to have him.

The problem is that Cumulus wouldn't know true heritage programming if it bit them in their collective corporate posteriors.

My fondest memory of jonsey jukebox on indie1031 jonsey had just come out of a block of tunes and ended with alone again naturally by gilbert o Sullivan and he said "don't worry your not listening to kost" To funny
