Dana Cortez Morning Show on The Beat

Based on the positive comments on Facebook, this show should do really well in SA. LOL.

PPM's should be interesting next month.

I am curious where Xavier & Biggie Paul will land. Alpha Media or iheart?

Here's their lineup, from what I remember when I tuned in.

Dana Cortez
Anthony A
DJ Automatic

Where's the show based from? I thought it was Albuquerque?

I heard the show this morning....yawn! No connection to SA. It also sounded recorded. Perhaps in the coming weeks, the show will be more catered to SA but as of now, the morning is lame. Good luck!

Well the Saturday night before the first show I heard them on at like 03:00 in the morning trying to hype it before it started. I think that was recorded too.
But the last few times I listened to Xavier he didn't have much of a connection to SA either. I liked Xavier's show more back in the early to mid 2000s.

The syndication killed the local vibe but your average radio listener wouldn't have known the difference. Xavier was one of the original jocks when The Beat first launched.

I also think The Beat may be aiming at a younger airstaff. Robbie Rob was moved to 95.1 and replaced by a younger individual. Who knows...

Anyhow, Hot 104.5 has finally updated their playlist.

how has 104.5 changed??

Must be that time of year but 95.1 has also updated their playlist. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Janet Jackson and J-Lo over the weekend.

Hot 104.5 seems to have more variety now. I like how they mix old and new songs, it's like 98.5 and 95.1 combined. Only thing is they speed up the music a half semitone or so.

Agreed. IMO, Hot 104.5 is sounding better than before.

I am also liking 95.1 much more now. In the last 24hrs, I've heard- Just Got Paid by Johnny Kemp, One More Try by Timmy T, Love Will Never Do by Janet, Girl You Know Its True by Milli Vanilli and others. However, 95.1 still leans heavy on Hip Hop
