I have a Crow and Hovanes from 1983 and a very short one of Steve Slaton and Beau Roberts from about the same time based on the Risky Business reference. I can post to my Dropbox account if you're still interested. I also have a bit of Robin and Maynard. I would like to have Crow and West airchecks.

Yes Thanks.. I'd love to hear Crow and Hovanes as well as Slaton and Beau Roberts, I really appreciate it .. I have just started looking into what I can find I'll let you know if I can find anything you might be interested in. Now i just have to figure out where your dropbox is.. thanks again..lol

KISW airchecks are hard to find. And the reason is quite simple...they did not stop down and talk much during this era. So DX catches, or even local catches were hard to comeby, and hard to locate. Steve Slayton was one who may have some material out there, but on the public scene, good luck.

Yeah i'm finding out how hard they are to find, It is kind of amazing what's out there from other stations and even some stuff into the 60's. I 'm really surprised they survived. I did a lot of recording off the radio at this time, but I'd always try to cut out the DJ's and hated it when they talked through the intro.. It was the old school way of illegal downloading of music at the time..lol Still I figured as popular as the station was at thetime there must have been a few people out there with tape running.

Thanks so much, for posting the airchecks. They really bring back the vibe that the station had around that time.. Lagan and West in the morning, then the 10-2 person it varied from what I remember, and Crow and Hovanes in the afternoon.. of course Steve Slaton took us into the evening.. Great Radio

There's a video aircheck of Crow and West on youtube.

OMG.. This is proving to be a rather difficult endeavor. For the most part I've found a few crumbs..oh and the places I've had to look, not to mention the things I've had to do...thank god for a long hot shower to restore a part of my dignity.

Doesn't it always seem to go that way? I've been hunting high and low off and on for several years now for some KBKS from the second half of 2008 and the closest I can find is some from January of 2009 that only have the jock, no imaging.

LoL Bob It's the same ole story. You stumble across a promising website, you scroll up and down the page, sometimes twice to make sure you didn't miss anything. You take a deep breath and let out a sigh...but then you notice there is a links tab..and your excitement builds again...you click on it go through all the links.. then the links of the links..then it's back to google or bing, maybe this time you reword your query and this time a different search result appears.. and you repeat the process..

On the other hand, you do come across some interesting things that you weren't looking for in the first place. For myself, I've discovered this whole community of people like yourself that share a passion for radio and the people behind the microphones. Sometimes I'm amazed at what has survived over the years, which only leaves me wondering how come I can't find more of what I'm searching for...lol I swear, I at times I feel I'd have better luck finding a Unicorn, The Easter Bunny or the proverbial pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

You've been at this longer than I have, so you've probably been to the same sites that I have. But I'll keep a look out for KBKS in the time frame you're looking for. I have over 30 sites bookmarked.. and of course those sites have links to other sites that have links.. and so on .. and so on...

Thanks. I used to keep an eye on Aircheck Downloads until they stopped updating their US section, and I've seen a few other aircheck sites off and on, but haven't found much. Last time I ran the search I did find a cool montage of stations using Reel World 1 jingles.
