Lacking KFI Chemistry

Yup, I agree. Mark co-hosted a show from 1:00 - 3:00 pm for maybe a year. Can't say he is my cup of tea. I guess he and his co-host did not do very well but are still under contract so KFI is trying to plug them into other shows.

I agree, Thompson is dead weight for any show. I think the listeners can read his phony personality for what it is. I don't know why the radio executives think that the fallen angels from TV are a fit for radio. Most of them fall on their face when they try to transition to radio. Anyone ever listen to Jillian Barbeire-Reynolds-Barbeire on KABC?
It just hit me. Mark Thompson sounds a lot like Ted Baxter on the old Mary Tyler Moore show.

Guys, they are the same. Insincere shells who rely almost exclusively on a collection of catchphrases, recycled stories and empty gregariousness.
So if you think they don't work together, it's not a lack of chemistry. It's personality phase cancellation.

Conway's the keeper...Thompson sounds like a typical radio pronouncer and really doesn't work well with Tim. Doubt time will make this pairing better, only allow KFI to burn off the time left on his contract. The only thing that needs to be jettisoned is "What The Hell Did Jesse Jackson Say?" Not relevant, not funny.

You hit the nail on the head with your observations about Conway's recycled stories. How many times will he tell the story of how the catch phrase "ding dong" started? I agree the What the he'll Jessie Jackson Say is old and moldy. And of course when they have absolutely no program content they invite the local police commander in for a talk on the generalities of public safety. Or how about taking calls from listeners on what military strategy to use to wipe out ISIL. Just a lot of garbage programming. I think we should start a running log on how many times he recyclers his old stories. I don't know what would longer that log or a log of how many times an hour Mark Thompson Hawks his blog site on the air.
Is anyone down there just slightly confused that there's a Mark Thompson on KFI and another Mark Thompson(Mark & Brian) on KSWD? You'd think at least one of them would sue! Confusion about the "other" Michael Jackson pales in comparison! This is as bad as The Dave Clark Five having two separate singles called "Everybody Knows"!

Well that could be easily solved by having the KFI Thompson use his real birth name. But that would involve that ethnic/religious thingy, and we all know in the new post discriminatory America that should not be!
Oh - OK - THAT Mark Thompson. I was confused. Mark and Brian's show ran in the Bay Area for awhile in the 90s, and the other Mark Thompson was a meteorologist at KRON-TV before making the move to LA. I remember seeing him after the move hosting some Fox programs. I recall that he and Ronn Owens of KGO were pals. You'd think some radio talk-show ability would have rubbed off on him. Perhaps not.

No the powers that be, seem to think that the fallen angels of TV can automatically transition to radio after TV Land has put them out to pasture. I guess they assume no unique talent is needed. How else can you explain Jillian Barierrie-Reynolds-Barbierre getting a show on KABC, after her fall from Fox 11?

One of the Thompson boys should use his middle name or initial. That is how it is normally handled to distinguish two celebrities with the same name. However, the lesser celebrity is expected to acquiesce and use his/her middle name. With egos involved with these two boys, I got a feeling neither is willing to blink first!
...goofing on Jesse Jackson today is no different than goofing on Arthur Godfrey in 1977. Lame, pointless and a betrayal of the comic genius of his father...

Talent is not passed through the genes. In fact one can make an argument that if the parent is talented you can just about guarantee the off spring isn't. But that won't stop them from shamelessly living off the family name.
