What Radio Station will carry the Rams

LA already has a lot of venues to host offer events so why would the promoters want to use the football stadium? Besides isn't the argument these billionaire team owners make is that they don't want to share the facility with another sport.

Everyone likes "new and shiny." Ask the owners of the Giants and the Jets how they feel about sharing MetLife Stadium in NYC. Not a problem.

It's been called MetLife for five years. Coincides when the Jets moved in. Look it up.

I think you missed the sarcasim there.;)
But to be fair, I think Giants fans sill thing of it as "New Giants Stadium". And the Jets would have built on the west side had the city approved the project. They only joined the Giants when the price tag for both were too high.

There are a lot of dog teams in bigger markets that you don't see on Sunday or Monday nights. That's how you determine the value of a team. St. Louis is one of those markets. The Rams won't draw much attention regardless of their base city unless they start winning. Green Bay and New Orleans bring in fan bases from outside of their direct markets. People will watch Dallas when they lose. Not sure if the Rams or the Raiders can make that claim.

They need big markets, but if the local fans don't watch, it doesn't matter. There are cheaper ways to come in last in LA. My sense is the driving force in LA is local money that's trying to create a new attraction on some relatively cheap land.

The Jets should move to Los Angles. They would be just as popular in LA as they are in New York/New Jersey

Welcome home, Los Angeles Rams. The Chargers have an "option" to join them (bank on it). The Raiders withdrew their application to move, and will remain in Oakland.

As a former LA Rams fan (grew up with 'em) I guess I say "Welcome Home". But 20 years of having no home team has taught me to follow the league, and not a particular team, and I don't think that will be changing any time soon. I am sure there are many who share the same sentiment.

Hopefully they will bring back the old blue and yellow unis. They were and still are among the league's best, looking great in the California sunshine on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Fortunately, this Los Angeles Rams team will have something they haven't had since Caroll Rosenbloom died - a real owner.

I predicted above that one of the two classic rock stations will be the radio home of the Rams. It is just a matter of time before it happens. I am not sure which one it will be; I think KLOS needs it more to stem the negative tide in their battle with KSWD, but KSWD has much better management to pull it off.

True, fm rock stations, either classic or active score well with NFL pbp. As do FM newstalks, as in KIRO-FM Seattle. But it all comes down to bidding, who will offer the juiceiest contract? Perhaps an FM/AM combo? Hmm, who could that be?

I agree that KLOS really needs this. I was going to a friend's house early last Sunday morning to partake in Bloody Marys and the Wild Card Playoff and stumbled upon KLOS' Football Pregame Show; Two guys talking about the slate of games on the docket along with injury and field reports and the like interspersed with BOC - Don't Fear The Reaper. I don't know how long KLOS has been doing this as I am seldom out that early on a sleepy Sunday but it did show that KLOS had been trying something different.

The only thing that would surprise me was if Cumulus had deep enough pockets to land the broadcast rights for the LA Rams as the company is notoriously cheap and heavily wallowed in debt but it makes the most sense as far as the FM band goes. I don't think KSWD really needs to mess around with Peace, Love and Sunday Morning even if it's for only 16 weeks out of the year. On the AM side, with The Beast 980's sale that station is off of the table so that really only leaves KLAC 570 and KSPN 710. Flip a coin on that one but I'd lean toward 570 if I were a betting man.

Technically, if you want to welcome them home, they would have to move back to Cleveland where they got their start. We have a team masquerading as a "professional" NFL franchise that you could take off our hands.

The Rams spent 8 seasons in Cleveland (1937-45), all in the leather-helmet era. Few people alive today remember the Cleveland Rams. They spent 49 seasons in LA, which most of us actually remember.

So which city is considered their "home?" Hint: It ain't Cleveland. You're stuck with the Browns. :D

Wonder who'll end up in St. Louis....

Nobody. The NFL isn't expanding, and no other team but the Chargers and Raiders can move, at least not for the foreseeable future. The teams that had been named as possibilities in the past (Bills, Jaguars, Vikings) are staying put, and I can't see either the Chargers or the Raiders (whichever doesn't stay where they are or move to LA) moving to St. Louis.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC the Raiders had a bigger fanbase than the Rams did. And USC had more fans than both NFL teams combined. After all, there was a reason both teams left.

This has always seemed to me that this is more of a "We want Market #2" effort from the networks than an effort to bring back one or both (plus the Chargers?) for the fans' benefit.

I don't think you're wrong at all. The Raiders had (and still have) a very strong fan base in L.A.
