**** up to dirty tricks again

***** translator in Beaumont is running WAY more than its * watts ERP.....it can be heard WELL beyond the 60dbu contour into Orange, Lumberton and other areas...who wants to file on it???

I guess **** figured with Steve Lee gone from the Houston office, he can break the law as he pleases (just what I figured would happen with the downsize happening)....I am placing a call to Jim Wells at the Dallas office later today...

**** just wont learn....

We do not permit libelous statements on this website. Please be very cautious when posting.
Beaumont is not part of the Houston radio market. Beaumont-Port Arthur is a different radio market.

Beaumont is not in the Houston market. Beaumont/Port Arthur is market #141. A completely different market than Houston.

We are pretty intertwined with our brothers down I-10 East. We split B/PA and HOU/GAL and this sub-forum will suffer tremendously. We've always ridden together, from when Doug started this whole thing, until now. Are we now splintering Beaumont/Port Arthur off of the Houston board? If so, Frank, that's a mistake. I'd certainly like to see you reconsider that.

So, with all the *****, is this topic really even usable anymore? I have no idea who or what CW's talking about. I know you can't allow libel to be slung around here, but why not just delete the entire topic?

Beaumont is just 60 miles to the east. Several of the Houston stations broadcast from just outside of Beaumont in Winnie... I think that Beaumont related posts are very relevant to us in the Houston market.

None of the Houston stations broadcast from Winnie. A few of the Beaumont-Port Arthur-Orange stations broadcast from Winnie trying to be Houston stations... or at least rimshot Houston stations.

I do agree on this point. With so many Beaumont stations trying to also be Houston stations, the market is really a fringe appendage to Houston.

But then ******* really needs to consider that ****** has been ****** since the beginning of ***** if not sooner.

OKAY! I'll consider Beaumont as part of the Houston market .....
Still ... We don't permit libel on this website.

That's all right, Frank. Those of us who have lived in Beaumont long enough know the miscreant CW is mentioning and wish the FCC would act on their misdeeds.

Well clue me in, stan. Simple yes or no answer will suffice. Is this the same person that owns AM stations in Conroe, Baytown, Gladewater, Tyler, & Wharton?

Forgive my rudeness...a tip of the ten gallon to you, good moderator. It's so much more than just oil and radio stations that keep us bound together. We share a Stuckey's too.

Merry Christmas, C-dub & stan :) Wouldn't want to live in a world w/o you guys on the Houston forum.

Merry Christmas to you as well, and to everyone on here.

When I moved to Beaumont in the late 1970s, the radio landscape was very different. Other than a tape deck in your car, there wasn't a lot of competition with the AM/FM optons on the dial. The transmitters and receivers may have been better than as well, since it was not unusual to receive stations such as KKBQ, KFMK, KILT, KRBE and KLOL regularly at home or on my drive to and from work. Enjoyed the personalities that used to be on radio back then, as well as lack of consolidation that was present.

In the late 1980s and 1990s, we began to lose stations to Houston as broadcasters began moving their towers to Devers in an effort to bridge both markets until they could get a foothold in Houston. We lost KHYS, KYKR, KWIC, and eventually KAYD in this manner. Sometimes, the only listeners with a decent signal were the rabbits out in the field near the transmitter (KWIC comes to mind shortly after their move). So there is a shared history between the markets that might otherwise not be there. Some stations here on AM - KLVI for example - can be heard fairly well in Houston. I've always wondered if iHeart might not think of using it to launch a different set of programming not covered in the Houston area at some point.

As for sharing the Stuckey's, I prefer the Buc-ee's in Baytown. 😃

Libel Frank?? ok how about this...the translator is on 107.5; it is operating WAY above its licensed power due to reception WAY beyond the 60dbu contour as shown on the FCC web site....in fact, my FIM shows the 60dbU contour is 2x what it should be.....no tropo....so I have to assume they have jacked the power up again (they did it the 1st day of operation and I called FCC agent Steve Lee...who is an old HS friend of mine)...next day they were back to normal operation and Lake Jackson's KGLK was BLASTING it all over Beaumont..

OK I realized Martin is not yet owner (due to my own Petition to Deny filed almost a year ago to prevent the xfer of the signal to him because of the documented lies I showed the Commission in the petition...they still have NOT ruled on my Petition...hmmmm this could throw a monkey wrench in it).. E String, owned by Huggins is the licensee still..and he lied through his initial 97.1 filings all over the place...as noted in my PTD as well :)

Libel?? Nope, FILED WITH FCC aka FACTS!!! I DONT libel...I go for the throat with FACTS...if they wish to sue me, go ahead...they lose...(Noone has won yet!)

Complaint was filed with the FCC...should be interesting on how long before the translator is set back to its legal power...I KNOW someone from E String is reading this forum....its happened before ;)
