Lol, well...I'm in the hotel business. That's one reason that I travel back and forth between Houston and San Antonio often, besides that my wife's family all lives over there in Bexar County. I offer nothing more than my uncanny ability to utilize my free time in scouring around the FCC files, looking for facilities making movements toward or away from Houston. That ability, comes from the reality that I'm still, at 49 years old, nothing more than a big ol' nerd. Spazoid, was the term I most often heard growing up, mrtejano. It's okay with me though, I keep good company around here. The room is full of them...
I guess that's why flipped formats don't irk me the way they do other people participating here. I'm interested in the facilities themselves, the history of the facilities, and what the future holds for those facilities down the road. Now, if I want to listen to a certain genre of music, I have the library to fulfill any style I desire. I don't depend on AM/FM radio to provide every type of music I may want to have a listen. The medium is not designed to accomplish that mission anyway.
The one exception to that rule, is KULF in Bellville. I hate what's been let happen, as much as what is currently happening to 1090, and that's solely due to personal attachment that I maintain for that specific facility. I've spoken about this before, no need to rehash old news.
Edit to add: You want to see another hopper, Señor?

JoeFM caught this one a couple months ago, sneaking its way down I-10. It's made it just east of Columbus to this point. What it'll have to do to get around KOVE & KHPT, in hopes of hoppin' all the way to H-Town itself, remains to be seen....but I'm sure we'll be seeing another lillypad surfacing soon, now that we're out of the Holidays and into the new year.
