People's Choice Awards

I wonder why they referred to that person as doing what Steve Harvey did? I thought it was Kanye West.

Jane Lynch did pull a Steve Harvey, giving Thomas Lennon the award they gave to someone who never got one before, and then apologizing and giving his award to Miss Colombia.

I do wish there had been more clips of nominees shown. And winners, since I watched some of the winning shows or performers whose awards weren't given out on the air.

I'm curious why Vin Diesel got to say all he wanted (not that I minded) and the music played for the "Pretty Little Liars" cast after only a short time.

Sharon Osbourne got to kick a stage crasher. A somewhat eventful broadcast. This, IMO, is the most relevant of the awards shows because it reflects what people actually like and the viewers actually get to vote. It was up against the premiere of American Idol and the ABC Wednesday comedy block, so it may take a hit in the ratings this year.

I'm not an awards show watcher, but is it just me or is anyone else surprised that since 2006, the People's Choice Awards has aired during the week rather than on a Sunday night after 60 Minutes? Unless the start of the NFL playoffs had a big influence in scheduling--even though this year CBS's only playoff game this weekend is tonight and that the last wild-card game (on Fox) will have probably concluded by 8/7CT.

That would put it up against the Golden Globes on NBC. Not a good idea.

Last week, CBS had NFL games that would have delayed the start.
 
Except for several years in the mid-1990s, the PCA show has always aired in early January and usually on a weeknight. It's generally regarded as the show that kicks off the awards season.
