Predictions for KTFM- err El Taco 94.1

It's raining tacos on 94.1 until 5pm. Moving away from CHR? Penetration is/has been the issue for this stick playing the PPM game.

Really? They're giving away free tacos as a promotion, so suddenly the natural next course is that they are changing formats?

Smh. Ok, I'll play along. Debuting at 5pm, "94-1 The Bell", inviting you to make a run for Floresville! <<DONG!!>>This next #3 combo of music is brought to you by Pepsi. Pepsi, it's still what you'll drink only if there's nothing else around, available at your nearest neighborhood grocer.

¡Yo quiero noventa cuatro punto uno, El Bell!

Man, when some people drive off into a ditch, they really punch the accelerator.

I just noticed that this morning, will Energy radio work? Will it be in form of dance?

Ha, wow. Alright, to restart this thread: 94.1 is in stunt mode until 5pm airing the same "Raining Tacos" song with a "major announcement at 5pm". Yes, some of this does include a street promotion giving away tacos.

Maybe it will be the same as before, just a name change?

Thanks KTFM that song is in my head now all day!

About the same? Only it's "energy 94-1"

Yup, playlist sounds exactly the same so far. Looks like a name change only .LAME. They probably could have just renamed it without all the "stunting". I doubt this helps ratings any but that's just me.

LOL yeah it's so silly it's just a name change. Still the same music and DJs.
If you heard country on 102.7 earlier, that was just misleading because Jack FM has gone back to it's original format and is the same as before. So yeah, that's the big change in SA radio, virtually nothing.

Here is an aircheck of the 94.1 re-launch. http://twup.me/5Wo
Note: The hidden audio in the middle of some songs is my neighborhood FM transmitter I turned on a couple times to compare it's audio to 94.1. I don't mean to brag but mine sounds much better, IMO.

Very first song after the change was "sorry" by Bieber. latino version. Been listening, haven't heard anything outside of what they normally played.

I'm still betting on Hot to flip. LOL maybe to be different than all the hip-hop, one of these top 40 stations can ad some dance music. Might not be a bad idea, and doesn't Dance do well in cities with large International populations?

I have been listening to the station for the past two hours. Reminds me of the former KCJZ "106.7 Jamz." All they need is more Dance. As for the playlist, it's heavily Rhythmic just like their sister station WXYY/Savannah. Other than that they sound good.

I don't see any signal issues (looks like they also have a translator). Looks like it is a crowded CHR market.

In the US? No.

Best example was Cox' dance station in Miami. It tried to make the format work for several years and finally ended it. Miami is extremely international, and that made no difference.

Although it was 10 years ago that this happened, there is certainly even less interest in dance today than back then.
