WBEN shows airing on other stations

I know the Financial Guys were on in Florida at one point but I don't believe they still are. But now Ask the Tax Lady airs in Florida, and is also video taped and played on WBBZ tv. Could the Tom Bauerle show be syndicated on all Entercom stations in the future? He keeps saying he should be. Time will tell. It should also be aired on public radio.

Tom controls where his show airs. If he wants to air on other stations, he just needs to ask. Entercom has done its own syndication in the past. I'm sure there are reasons why this show remains local to Buffalo. Contracts get renegotiated every few years, and I'm sure he's had the option to do other things if he wants.

I don't know how many people will care to listen since the topics of many of his shows are related to Buffalo.

Tom thinks that he should be Rush. He ain't. If Tom wants to syndicate, he'll need an infrastructure to market and sell his show. That ain't easy, or cheap.

As far as shows like "Ask the Tax Lady" and the Financial Guys, what makes you think that WBEN owns them? They could easily be paid programming on WBEN. They'll sell weekend airtime to anybody who's got cash.

They are paid programming. There is no question about that.

Total nonsense. Bigger markets aren't interested in Bauerle.
He's a small minded man with a huge ego.
He's lucky he still has a gig. His unnatural Rush wannabe delivery is
sad and the format has terminal cancer...

As I said, Entercom has the infrastructure. Truthfully, if you can post on a message board, so do you. Lots of people market their radio shows and podcasts via the internet.

But if you want to use traditional syndication, there are several companies who'll provide the infrastructure and the sales so all you have to do is deliver a show.

From what I've heard from those in-the-know, TB has wanted a syndie arrangement for quite sometime.

You're right, he does believe he's the next Rush, but he does not have a natural delivery or the relatability that Rush has---or once had. His borderline pornographic comments interspersed with lectures about conservative values tends to send a mixed message. His "aren't I funny" while laughing at his own jokes moments are too frequent as well.

Entercom likely believes they're much better off keeping him in place in his hometown (accent and all) than risking disaster in syndication.

The other thing they know is if they open the door for some guy in Buffalo, they're going to hear from very similar guys in every other market where they own stations. Imagine sitting at contract time with a host in Kansas City or Sacramento who says, "What's so special about him? I want one too, or I'm walking." What Tom has to be willing to do is leave the comfortable nest he has, to take a real chance in syndication. I sense that he's not.

Considering his history, why would Entercom be interested in syndicating him? There are bomb-throwers in dozens of markets who are much more stable than Tom. It ain't personal, it's business. He's lucky he's still working.

True.

After that fiasco 2 years ago, most hosts would've been fired by most companies.

Well we all know that there was no "fiasco."

A radio neophyte and WBEN sycophant might not understand, but many others do. Just a sampling:

His behavior on and off air was written about not just locally, but in out-of-town papers as well, not to mention in industry trades.

If you don't think that was a "fiasco" then you're a liability to any media outlet that employs you.

Tea Party Loonies don't care about facts. It's like trying to reason
with a rabid dog.

Poor Tom is self absorbed & delusional--(like his minion that posts here)
Maybe he should get himself a pair of those Magic Boots.
You know, the ones that he claims the Governors men use
that don't leave footprints in the snow.
A straight jacket would go well those boots...

Even if one were to believe anything the rag reported as true, it's not really a fiasco and it's not anyone's business.

Well, if I ever apply for a position in the "media," please don't tell them that I don't actually believe what they publish.

Of course you miss the point entirely. And believe me, not everything was printed in the "rag". Unfortunately for a sycophant like you, I actually know several who had pretty good seats for some of the action. "Bizarre" barely describes it.

Well, if I ever apply for a position in the "media," please don't tell them that I don't actually believe what they publish.

I'm sure you don't. Why go to established and reliable news sources when you can instead read wingnut bloggers, Breitbart and The Blaze. LOL

I listen to Bauerle's show and find it entertaining much of the time. However, there are some things he says and does that irritate me and sometimes I just have to turn him off.
