WSTC-1400 & WNLK-1350 in Fairfield County going dark

THey should wait for the FM Translator filing window and see if they can grab an FM frequency. Then either use them or sell them as AM stations with FM translators which would increase their value. Yes, KOOL would be a good format for them.

WSTC has a translator, but it appears that it will stay with the NPR affiliate.

Neither AM covers very much, and the areas are urbanized and noisy. The EBU just revised their standard for clear reception of AM from 5 mV/M to 10 mv/M, which means that these two stations have about 1/4 the effective, useful coverage as when they first signed on.
