Were these the hearings that prompted Fred Friendly to resign as president of CBS News? (He was upset CBS wouldn't pre-empt its weekday morning programming to air them.) It's pretty surprising that NBC not only did pre-empt its weekday morning programming, but also aired it on a weekend. Did any of the hearings take place on the weekend?
