Philadelphia Radio Ratings: Holiday 2015

Wow WOGL's Christmas Music almost got tripled by More FM's. Maybe their trying to target a demo that is no longer there. I have been saying this for a while now, i like 60s, but i feel like they should move on from this and focus on 70s-80s with a sprinkle of 90s. I know people will say then More FM will play more 80s. Who cares. Look at what WCBS 101 is doing with 80s and even some 90s and every weekend 106.7 Lite FM has a best of the 80 weekend. WCBS is still right at the top either 1 or 2 with much higher 25-54's then WOGL. They same goes for Krth.

There is probably room for only one all Christmas station in each market. Look at Philly, WBEB did well,WOGL not so much. I'll listen to the all holiday stations occasionally just to hear Bing,Perry Com,Ray Conniff,Sinatra,Carpenters, etc. It's the only time of the year you'll hear Standards artists on terrestrial radio.

...and of course, no one sells based on the Holiday book. It's just something for Neilsen to charge extra for.

And it is not even that...

Nielsen does a Holiday book for a couple of reasons, the main one being that the PPM is a panel-based survey. They have to maintain the panel active and participating every week of the year, so they get the data anyway "at no extra cost" since they have to keep the panel going.

Then, they need the weeks of Holiday to let stations enable rolling average views of the data going into January's book.
