How is 96-9 KPPC able to broadcast all over town while 96-9 KXTJ just comes in for me on the Northwest side?
I know the FCC shows KPPC's antenna as higher up, but I happen to know they have it on the roof of their church at 55 ft above ground, and it's not on a tower. Are they really running only 64 watts for the signal to reach that far? Also the audio sounds overmodulated to me.
 
Neither 96-9 is listenable off of I-10 and Probandt. I've actually had better success with KXBJ on the channel, than either of the two LPFMs at the house. Now, driving into town from Houston is a different story. KPPC sounds absolutely wonderful on the ride in from Seguin to around the time you hit I-37.

Edit to add: I don't think I have yet to hear from KXTJ on my truck's unit.

Hi All,
KPPC is operating at the max power for the height authorized by the FCC. The HAAT of KPPC is 38 meters and operates at 64 watts (equal to 30 mt @ 100 watts). The station operates totally legal. Several of the people on the board are radio people and the pastor of the church owns a couple of FM's and is a retired engineer from Salem.
