Imminent format change at WZBR 1410 AM

I've been informed that the current Brazilian format on WZBR 1410 is going away very soon -- possibly tomorrow -- and will be replaced by English-language programming. No details.
 
WZBR 1410 AM, Dedham MA has switched to an all rap format. Heard one cut with soulful organ in the background--and the four letter S-word. I know that may shock some of you.
 
i listened for a bit and i heard no stops between songs,commercials etc. on the toh id strange.
 
It comes in on the North Shore although with some static. At night I get a station with Howie Carr. I can't get a stream for this station.
 
awesome. Hopefully they lean toward classic r&b heavy on the 1980s. their iPhone app is a bit blah (blank black screen while live stream is playing)
 
im liking this station so far. We shall see when they go live with jocks. AM sucks but the feed is doable
 
based on their twitter, they have Jeff 2 Timez and Moe D as DJ's -- of Hot/B87 87.7 pirate fame. Wonder who else is in the pipeline.

Some might wonder if young people, especially, are even aware of AM radio these days but I'm sure they'll hear about it via word of mouth. AM is still in car stereos (though didn't one car manufacturer hint at not offering it, or not offering a radio at all?). People can listen via smartphone streaming. (There is an app some smartphones have, NextRadio, which does offer
a radio chip--but for FM only...still, if they can get an translator--though maybe Radio One will do R&B on a translator on FM...)

Some mp3 players (Sansa, Sony Walkman) do have radios in them, but FM only.
And so on.
 
@robotique, thanks for the info about the stream. They are playing sweet soft jams at night. They're doing it right on this station.

WZBR is owned by Alex Langer, who also currently owns 650 WSRO, Ashland and 1240 WBAS, W. Yarmouth, that both broadcast mainly Portuguese and/or Brazilian programming.

I don't know the source of the programming on WZBR.
