2pm on channel 9 is probably "WonderWorks" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WonderWork

Thanks, I think you are correct, but that was what The Seattle Times listed.

Also, I noticed that I left out the 6:30-7 pm slot for the network affiliates. Just for the record all three were local news in this slot, though KING5's offering was called "Top Story", which concentrated on just that. Didn't last very long.

For those who follow such things, my educated guess is the main anchor teams on Seattle TV news in late '86 were KOMO4-Jim Harriott/Kathy Goertzen, KING5-Mike James/Jean Enerson, and KIRO7-John Marler/Gary Justice, with Aaron Brown at 11. Of the above, Harriott and Goertzen are deceased, and the others are out of tv news, though Enerson does special reports for KING5.

Number of things to note:
--All three affiliates put local/syndie shows in the 9am slot, which definately wasn't the case in E. Washington.
--Interesting that Ch.13 did a lot of pre-empted daytime network shows, while Ch.11 didn't. Plus both stations having afternoon movies in 1986 is pretty odd.
--Was "Rangers" "Ranger Charlie and Roscoe"? (forest ranger with racoon puppet show?)
--Wonder why neither Ch.2 (CBC out of Vancouver) or Ch.12 (Indie out of Bellingham) weren't listed; I swear I saw those in some Seattle listings back then.

Hi installLSC,

My source was the Seattle Times TV page and they indeed did include 2 out of Van and 12 out of Bellingham, though it was on the right side of the listings along with HBO, Showtime, and ESPN. Yes, Seattle cable carried these channels, but I chose to stick with just the Seattle VHF's for this post, as anything else would have been mostly cable, which was not as prevalent as today.

I think both 11 and 13 were at the end of their afternoon movie stint, especially since Fox was coming in on 13, and there were many more syndication options for both.

I used to go to the Bellevue (WA) KCLS Library...a LOT, and pull off Seattle Times microfilm for Radio Discussions. If you look back in the archives for 2012/13, you'll see a lot of old microfilm listings from the 1980s and 90s. Anyways, I will say that 2 and 12 were in the Times in 1986. A couple years back, CHAN-8 (BCTV) Vancouver was included. TV Guide's Western Washington edition kept CHAN-8, and CKVU-21/10, and CHEK-6 up through the end of the small size version.
I miss doing that, but whenever I can hit the Downtown Yakima Library, I can get Yakima Herald microfilm, which included most of the Seattle stations in the '80s, KAYU Spokane, and surprisingly, CBC *North*! Yes...no CBUT on the listings, instead the Arctic feed, which was carried on C-Band.
Unless it was a different show, Simon & Simon reruns aired at 9AM weekdays on KIRO-7 in 1992-1993.

Re: Simon & Simon...Yep, same show, primetime in 1986, likely syndicated in '92. But 9 AM?, that is a bit weird.
