why doesn't Bonneville buy Levin?

Seriously, they should. They dropped Beck (that was a huge mistake), and now Levin - on Ancient Modulation - is getting bigger and bigger. The closer we get to November, the more awkward and embarrassing it will get when people tune in to 92.3 after 7pm for election coverage and all they hear is beans and rice. If the numbers after 7pm are already a throwaway and the soccer moms aren't listening at that time, anyway, wouldn't Levin be better for Bonneville than more beans and rice? Am I wrong, Doc, or have any suits thought about it?

If you mean Mark Levin, he just signed a very long term contract with Cumulus. But he's syndicated.

Yes, correct. That's my point - if anyone is looking at long-term post-Ramsey programming (and I cannot conceive how they wouldn't be), Levin would be better filler for Bonneville for the reasons I stated.

Post Ramsey, they run Jim Bohannon, who is syndicated by the same company that handles Mark Levin. So I'm sure the option has been presented, and they've chosen to stay with what they have.

The scorched earth talkers are toxic. It'll be beans and rice until a case can be made for live and local after 7pm - and that may be longer than the trail of motor oil left behind by our '76 Gremlin!
