Well, that took a while, but I’m glad they finally came to a decision — it was on the bubble for so long.

Yes, of all the things you never thought could continue….the hyperfrenetic, crazy, mad, insane OVA known as Fooly Cooly, or FLCL for short, will get a second season twice as long as the first. Or two more seasons six episodes long, depending on how you look at it. Toonami and Production IG have entered an agreement to pay for and produce the new season, which will air in two six-episode pieces on the anime block in late 2017 and early 2018.

According to Toonami’s Jason DeMarco, the current plan is to get the entire original English voice cast back, if possible.

I never liked the idea of referring to a group or series of episodes as a season. It always seemed or sounded silly to me.

For once I actually agree with you. A lot of shows will have 2 or 3 "seasons" in the course of a year now, especially the ones that will only have 10 or less new episodes at any one time.
