Greater Media Honcho Eating Crow Yet ?

Doubt the head ... BIG HEAD ... honcho has eaten crow yet?
BIG HEAD said Margery Egan and Jim Braude would fall on their collective faces without him and WTTK.
Really, BIG HEAD? Their Boston Public Radio program on WGBH - FM 89.9 FM 11 AM - 2 PM is go to radio and a big success. Try a little salt and pepper on your crow BIG HEAD .
 
How do 96.9's ratings look since they switched to a thumping noises format compared to when they were a talk station?

Worse Media has 3 entries in the top 10, but GBH didn't crack the top 10.

The Ratings on Public Radio are determined by how many listeners contribute.
WGBH is meeting if not exceeding the public contribution effort without erectile dysfunction ads and other bogus commercials.
The quote is direct; not heresay.
Believe the animosity came about because Jim and Margery out bested Big Head on their contract settlement.

Everyone I know at Gr. Media liked Jim and Margery, and wished them well after the format change. So, I am guessing this is another delusion.....and part of your regular agenda.

Yet Greater Media is widely viewed as one of the best run and most fiscally conservative companies in the industry. The head of Greater Media, Peter Smythe, is recognized as a real industry leader and his stations are very successful.

This discussion sounds like something from a sports bar, starting with the subject matter.

And 96.9 is billing as much as it did as a talker, on probably much lower costs.

Not true, I work at WBUR and they use PPM for ratings. I'd guess that WGBH, WCRB and WUMB probably do too.

Contributing listeners are the major factor in the success of the stations, but I haven't heard of Neilsen ratings numbers being figured from listener contributor numbers. As far as I know, they're technically separate, only conceptually related in that most likely the higher the ratings, the higher the contributions, and vice versa.

HOT is holding its own. TKK (or more particularly people like Severin) was more trouble than it was worth to the cluster IMHO, especially when PPM became the new Gospel. Moving forward, it's interesting to see what some of the new tools for tweaking PPM modulation and saturation have done to the order of things.

Jim and Margery and their production staff, some of whom have joined them at GBH, are lovely people who brought a lot of good cred to the station and the cluster. For example, having the Governor as a regular visitor is a nice touch and gets the listenership access.
