Sunny 105.9 Classic Dance Showcase After Party

Since when did this start?
I always wanted Sunny 105.9's Classic Dance Showcase in the mix.
Now that I got it, I love it!!
Who's mixing?
And why isn't there an on-air personality with this yet?
Is this my cue to jump in & send another resume (aka bad knock-knock joke) like I did for the morning show?

Another win for SunnyFM. This station just knows how to execute on all levels. Nothing like it anywhere else in Florida.

Go Sunny Go!!! ;D

Thanks guys for the positive feedback...

Here's the back story to the Classic Dance Showcase After Party (Mix)...

About a month ago we (Rick Stacy, Domino and myself [Paco]) decided to add a "feature" to the Classic Dance Showcase with an "After Party" Mix Show (named by Domino). We'd talked about it for quite some time. But, since no one in town seemed to be superserving (classic) "dance" music, we felt there was a bit of a hole there. We're strong 25-54 & 35-64...but we thought that our "young at heart" upper demos that were up past midnight would appreciate it...AND ANYONE who liked PURE dance music would listen...Other stations were obviously mixing, but they are throwing in dubstep and techno...a niche that is obviously not our cup of tea...nor our audience's

There are STILL plenty of dance music lovers out there! So we went ahead and did it!

BTW...I (Paco) do the mixes...but...because I'm on middays, I don't host it. It goes unhosted, with sweepers dropped in for (obvious) ID purposes. Since ratings are pretty much overwith at midnight, we decided to just put the sweepers into the mix and run it to see what kind of response we'd get...so far... so good!

Thanks again!

Hope you continue to enjoy it..now , please - GO AND SPREAD THE WORD!

Yay for Paco!
I'm 31 & like to listen to the main show, too.
Now, if you make that a mixshow with a live turntable DJ playing requests, you've got a sure winner!
Let me know if you guys are thinking of going that route. ;)

Mo...thanks for the reply and the excitement about what we're doing...Fortunately...we're growing...unfortunately, since it IS after hours...(12mid)...we don't plan to have a live jock in the building...BUT...it's still more than anyone else is doing these days...and the music I'm mixing is "our" music...only remixes...and a handful of mashups...Thanks for listening! Keep passing it around! It's not "oldies"...it's more like the best music ever recorded...Don't know if you heard the "Classic Dance Showcase" this week...I had my good friend K7 from TKA call in just to say "whattup?!"...It was very cool...God bless...

I flipped out when Sunny played Afro-Rican "Give It All You Got" on tonight's show.
Didn't think Bass music was in Sunny's arsenal.
I just played that song the past 2 weeks on my own radio show on 91.5FM WPRK!

I really wish Sunny would copy 107.3 The Eagle's format out of Tampa, O-Town needs more classic rock rather than bass heavy "dance" music.

Between this and dj mo radio it's kinda like the old 95.3 party days. :) I loved the live club mixes on that station. But for most of that station's existence I was living in coco beach and palm bay so I was not able to hear it. We had no tunein back then. ahhahaha Every time I go back to Altamonte I listen to Sunny for sure. And booooo to wmmo copying 107.3 the eagle..... I mean it is OK but it gets really old after a while. i miss the old wmmo. :( The wmmo I grew up with...
