KFOG stays AAA with new PD Bryan Schock

Interesting music tweaks this week. Newer, yes, but also pop-ier, with tracks by Train, Sarah McLachlan, UB40, Natalie Merchant, Sugar Ray, Matchbox 20, and Sheryl Crow added in.

Are we talking ultra-familiar AC staples like "Drops of Jupiter," "Soak Up the Sun" and "Red Red Wine" or lesser-known album tracks?

Honestly? That's not much different than what they've always played. (Train, for example, has been a staple for the last 10 years) I just looked at the last 12 hours of TuneGenie and the only difference is that there's nearly nothing pre-1990, except for a handful of U2 "classics".

It does, however make one wonder how male-leaning they're gonna be (which had been the assumption).

Looking at the last 12 hours of TuneGenie, they are as repetitious as they ever were, only in a younger-skewing way. U2 are the new Police; REM are the new Tears For Fears. :)

And I have to say that the promos with Pinfield bragging about the famous rock stars he knows ("Hey! I used to hang out at Adam Duritz's house!") make me want to never listen to him.

Is this the new logo already on the site before the actual launch?

Man, that website is even more cluttered than it was before. If you're talking about that "evolution" thing with the outline of a guitar, it's been on their Facebook page since the beginning of the month.

I note that when I went to the site, their "just played" feature said they were playing "Take Me To Church", for the 8 billionth time :)

His raspy voice is a little too much for me. Even in the 30 second sweeper.

A 30 second sweeper? 30 seconds is a promo or a commercial, not a sweeper.

My own rule is that if it has more than 10 to 12 words, it ain't a sweeper.
