KISS or The App?

I really like KISS because it's got a great signal, but The App plays a wider variety of music.
Even better musically is 101-5 KROX in Austin.
What's your favorite Alternative station?

KISS is more of a 90's centric Classic Rock station these days. They do well ratings wise, so the format works.

I'll give 101X the nod over The App; 101X will play rock oriented modern rock, while The App sounds a little too pop alternative.

KISS is nowhere near alternative and has never been alternative leaning during their days as a rock station (unless you wanna consider Black Sabbath alternative). 99.5 may have the stronger signal but their playlist is so narrow, you hear nothing but the same 5 rock songs from 1999-2001 as I've mentioned a few times. App on the other hand has their wider variety and have their app to listen to their station anywhere your cell phone can have the coverage. Without that phone, you don't have that luck to listen with their crappy signal. 101X is actually not bad with more indie stuff than App. Both station do sound way better than Edge/Dallas, and Buzz/Houston since they love playing the same 90s-2000s hits more than newer music and lean too pop than alternative.

You want a pop leaning alternative? Try 106.5 the Shark in Corpus in which they consider Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars "alternative."

The App has a new mix show called, Unzipped. The show mainly consist of early 2000's to current dance hits. And, I love it!! :)

Their mix show has that San Antonio feel to it, point granted that it is the same people who does mixes on KTFM/Energy. Gave it a try last Friday. Heard remixes of Uptown Funk, Smells Like Teen Spirit, I Love Rock and Roll, and something from Cobra Starship with some drum and bass beats to it. Kinda reminds me of the old Edge Club on 94.5 in Dallas (before their move to 102.1 and later cancelled).

Hope they extend Unzipped on Saturday nights too. Also give 101X's mixshow on Saturday nights as well.
