No HBO ??? Was it rare for any cable system NOT to offer HBO in the late 1980s ?? I knew a handful of some rather conservative cable systems back in those days that didn't offer Showtime, The Movie Channel even Cinemax but they did offer HBO.

Strange that they had TNN, but not MTV or VH1.
 
Aberdeen is farmland, farmland and more farmland. Many country stations around that area.
