Rip 100.5 my fm

Looks like they may be trying the same thing they're doing in Seattle, where Kiss is a hot AC side-by-side with a CHR and an urban.

They didn't even have to register a new domain name this time, kisslouisville.com was registered 16 years ago back when 98.9 was Kiss and they never quite let go of that domain (they have, on the other hand, let go of their domain for Louie FM) when they switched to Radio Now in 2010.

When I first read the title of this thread I thought it's about time for a change. Then I find out it's only a name change.Seriously? I'm sure that now with the KISS name along with the same crappy format that the ratings will go through the roof. What a joke!

I think they should return to being 100.5 The Fox, as the format ended in the last signal, 93.1.

Wow... Didn't see that coming. Really? Isn't that the same format on 98.9?

Let's go ahead and rename 97.5 WAMZ to 97.5 The Bull.

Who remembers in 1990 djx got some competition from kiss 104? 103.9 had been wxln as christian rock and then became kiss 104 with frosty stillwell and tony cruz doin mornings. That was the first kiss in louisville and had nuttin to do with clear channel.

It was hurting them. And DJX "bought" it- LMA'd it to take control, change formats, and make it go away.

Not exactly. From what I've heard, Kiss is essentially My FM with a different coat of paint while 98.9 is CHR/Top-40. Hot AC and CHR aren't the same thing, though they do have some similarities.

As I recall Kiss 104 did pretty well in the ratings but was a tough sell. DJX was able to kill two birds with one stone; it got rid of a competitor that was hurting it while getting rid of a station that couldn't hit its margins.

It has been pointed out to me that since Michael Jordan has come to iHeart Louisville, he has either changed the format or tweaked the format/air staff on 4 out of their 5 FM's.

What is the reason? Were they low in billing? It's not often that you make that many changes unless the cluster is not making money. Changing My to KISS in name only is stupid.

He came from here in Lexington right? I guess he is trying to replicate what he has done here. Stations are doing good. Doesn't mean it works in another town though.
