Janet Waldo, cartoon voice artist

Janet Waldo, the voice of Penelope Pitstop and Judy Jetson (among others), passed away June 12, 2016 from complications of a stroke, She was 96.

In later years, she did voice work but you can see her (with Richard Crenna) in the "I Love Lucy" episode "The Young Fans" (Season 1, episode 20). Also on the "Andy Griffith Show in "A Wife for Andy" (Season 3, episode 29).

This leaves June Foray as the last of the classic cartoon voice artists still living, male or female? I can't think of anyone else who was active pre-1970 that's still around.

Oh, wow. I liked a lot of her work as a child.

I have fond memories of Paul Lynde as the deliciously nasty Hooded Claw and of the Ant Hill Mob.

I know I saw her name a lot, but there are surely many more I don't remember. Seems like she was Fred Flintstone's evil mother-in-law.

Frank Welker, who's 70, and has been doing voice work since the late '60s. Besides him, all of the other prominent longtime voice actors/actress that are still around, have come since the '70s.
