Note: [B/W] means program aired in black and white (only those marked by the paper; several other shows were probably in B&W as well)

WTRF and WSTV, despite having on paper secondary ABC affiliations, didn't clear many ABC shows. WTAE was available on cable in Wheeling/Steubenville for years and years.

Wow, if you had cable in Pittsburgh back then you could watch The Flintstones five times a day on three different channels.

WJAC 6 - The Electric Company (Can't be the popular PBS series on an NBC affiliate, can it ??)

WSTV 9 - CBS Morning News over Good Morning America (Ypu would think that with CBS struggling to put on a decent morning show & GMA being #1 that WSTV would've gone with GMA @ 7:00 AM. I wonder what prevented them from doing so)

It's also worth noting that WSTV would eventually drop BOTH CBS & ABC & become an NBC affiliate

Cheers & 73 :)

WQED (PBS 13 Pittsburgh) (missing some slots)
WQED ran instructional programming between 12 and 3. Programs that were meant
to be viewed in school classrooms. They were generally not listed in the newspaper.

WQEX (PBS 16 Pittsburgh) (station only broadcast in black and white)
Which they continued to do until 1985!

WPTT (IND 22 Pittsburgh)

2pm - Captain Pitt
Exact same show as Captain Chesapeake, produced at sister station WBFF
in Baltimore. Only the name of the Captain and certain local segments were changed.
WPCB (IND 40 Greensburg)
While licensed to Greensburg, station was never actually there.
Both studios and tower are located in Wall Borough, about 10 miles east of Pittsburgh.
In later years the station ID'd "Greensburg-Pittsburgh"
