City of Conroe LPFMs get call letters

Noticed that the two City of Conroe LPFM CPs for 104.5 and 106.1 now have the calls KZCW and KZCC, respectively. Perhaps close to getting on the air?

(Now to see if this is yet another forum topic that gets threadjacked by you know what.)

Why would the City of Conroe be eligible for multiple licenses? I didn't know that was Kosher.

If I recall, Native American entities can have 2 but government entities opting for a public service format can apply for as many LPFMs as they like. I believe a government entity in Colorado and Montana opted for numerous stations to broadcast road and weather conditions...think the AM TIS stations as far as content. Ocean City, MD has two LPFMs and they run sort of a visitor information, community announcement format.

:cool:That's correct as I understand it, but public safety / service route has specific requirements ?, and not just a open forum type of broadcasting.
