It's Ayessa Page - currently weekends/fill ins at Rock 100.5 in Atlanta. http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/a...107-7-the-end-seattle-hires-ayssa-page-for-mi. AA says this is her first FT job in radio. Good for her! Hope she does well.

Page says "It's not everyday you get to go work for your dream station. THE END is unique and extremely authentic in everything they do, and I have so much respect for the brand. I am thrilled and honored to be joining such a tremendous team."

Now, back to your regularly scheduled Seattle radio history, LPFM and DX threads.

I suspect she's The End's first DJ to be born after the release of Nevermind. That should be interesting. Of course, Stacey Ireland was pretty young when she started at KZOK, and did just fine with the Classic Rock tracks for two decades.

There never stopped being hope, ford. Seattle is Ayessa's fourth market move - besides Atlanta she worked in 2 CT markets. She didn't stay out in her hometown waiting for a phone call from a local station - she pulled up roots and went where the work was. You willing to make that kind of commitment to a radio career? There's plenty of entry level job openings outside of the PNW.

That is very true. The only thing that keeps me rooted in the PNW is the fact that I am also a student in university at the moment. After I'm done with that, it will certainly be time to make those kind of decisions. Lucky for me, I was able to find a station that would allow me to work my way into being a host. I also was fortunate to meet very kind individuals who helped me transform my show from barely listenable, to a viable show that I could see being on a major Seattle station one day. I really came to appreciate this after working in a university radio station where people wanted to do the job, but weren't learning lessons that you can only learn at a commercial station.
