Stations broadcasting in 1080i

Many stations broadcast in 1080i. All NBC, CBS, CW, Univision, Unimas and Telemundo affiliates broadcast in 1080i, as do their numerous LPDTV translators, including those in Prescott - K06AE-D, K14HC-D and K30JD-D. Independent KTVK also broadcasts in 1080i, along with its translators, including Prescott's K11LC-D. The Phoenix Daystar station also broadcasts in 1080i, even though its full-power station in Holbrook does not.

I was under the impression that stations broadcasting in 1080i were unable
to have any sub-channels due to bandwith limitations.... The more video
and audio, the lower the resolution for each subchannel....

Generally, that's true, but compression technology is evolving, making it possible to fit more and more into the existing bandwidth. The Univision/Unimas stations are running two 1080i streams, plus two 480i streams, and their programming often includes soccer matches. A professional can probably spot the problems with that, but I doubt most untrained viewers can tell the difference, especially if they've been used to watching heavily compressed video on cable or satellite systems. A lot of it depends on the quality of the multiplexer as well. K38IZ-D has serious problems with many of their seven feeds, most likely due to older, cheaper, less capable systems.

ATSC 3.0 is promising even better compression technology, making it possible to air UHD content, which is not feasible under current ATSC 1.0 technology.

...Prescott - K06AE-D, K14HC-D and K30JD-D...

Oops...K14HC-D is not a CW translator; it's the MyNetwork translator and broadcasts a 720p signal. K34EE-D is the CW translator, serving Cottonwood and Prescott Valley from atop Mingus Mtn.

Remember ... the 1080I video is interlaced. That takes about half as many bits as 1080P.
