98.7 Fox Sports Radio / The End Of Simon 98.7 For Charlotte Radio Listeners

Oh boy, just what we need another Spanish Station!

Well, the market is now 10% Hispanic. WGSP barely covers the southeastern part of the market and WOLS is a rimshot from the south, so a well located translator could get significant listening. The market is very certainly underserved.

Wow, this looks like something I could have written. Amen brother!

All the LPFM and translators are making the FM band a mess. It's getting more difficult to go from point a to point b listening to one station. Most times it's a battle with two stations coming in over the top of each other.

That is exactly the problem in Spartanburg County where 2 stations battle on top of each other on 102.9-FM. The Lake station WLKO from Charlotte used to come in clear before a Greenville translator signed on 102.9 with a Hispanic format. I used to get 102.9 the Lake clearly in Greenville on my home receiver, including the HD, but now it is wiped out by the WGTK translator leased out to the Spanish broadcaster. And there is ongoing interference with 107.9- WLNK in Greenville due to a low power FM signal. Poor planning by the FCC and very aggravating.

Wish it would simply disappear altogether quite honestly. It wipes out reception of both adjacent channels of FM Audio of this Frequency on the 3 Meter Spectrum. Steve.

PS: How can they continue to say they broadcast from BELMONT (GASTON COUNTY) when in fact they transmit from CHARLOTTE (MECKLENBURG COUNTY) is beyond me. It baffles the mind..... Someone from the FCC must simply be asleep......

What will happen to 99.7 hd2 which broadcasts this sports station?
