Kofp-lpfm 103.3

Heard this station while on the 180 between 99 and 41, but started to get interference when going on 168 towards Clovis from co-channel KZPO. At only 13 watts was the purpose of this station to serve the downtown area or was it just a bad frequency to choose? What would be the be the best frequencies in Fresno so that it could be heard over the entire metro area

I heard it today from Ashlan and 168 to Stanislaus and 99, I don't like the idea that it blocks KPZO, another missing format in Fresno, I notice they play Non-popular R&B, meaning no Hot-100 hits, with no DJs, and didn't hear a station ID at the top of the hour, Looks like they are on the Security Bank Building.

According to radio-locator.com they have a wire in a tree just off the fulton mall. What is the point of a 13 watt LPFM anyway? On the tallest building in town or not? Other than to prevent people from listening to KZPO.

I would agree with that, it seems that another channel could have been chosen to prevent a complete blockage of KZPO. Even though KZPO is a format that is a bit out of my age demo, I think stations like these serve a benefit to the airwaves. Why not put it at 93.3, 96.1, 98.5 etc if a lpfm can be placed close to another full power station such as KJOI-lp 104.3 is to KFRR 104.1.

I heard an ID saying KOFP is operating in testing mode on Monday and Tuesday. I was at McKinley and Chestnut and it it was 50/50 with KZPO.

Keep in mind that there are TWO LPFM CP's - both on 103.3 in Fresno. This CP has already been hit by letters and phone calls about blocking out KZPO. Even Ronny Paul has been up in arms over the interference to KZPO. He has started a letter writing drive on his Saturday Night TV program asking people to write to the FCC.

KOFP is now looking to move to a new radio channel.

They have to do an engineering study to find another channel (if there is one). Then they have to file it with the FCC. Then the FCC has to grant the application. This could take a while especially if another station files an objection to the application.

I hope something happens and this station moves to a different frequency, I'm a delivery driver and its sad as f that we can't listen to KZPO driving around in Fresno, the interference factor is bad everywhere.
My Delivery vehicle has a very good receiver I get 103.9 KDJK in North Fresno And Clovis (a 72 watt station, like 100.3 KMAK) and 104.9 KCRZ with no interference with KKBZ, and KZPO with KAAT 103.1, til NOW!!!! so annoying, this new station I'm with Ronnie Paul at 43.5 Antenna Tv we need to stop this!!!!!
