New ratings are in

I don't think I'd be too worried about that, that show has just gained another outlet in Florida. It's interesting to watch that show continue to grow. As for Star, it'd be interesting if they're still winning in key demos if Kiss is winning 6+.

Syndication doesn't bring much benefit to the local audience?

No Bob, it doesn't. If anything it takes away from the local audience as the show topics now need to not have local references so the affiliates are left out. That fact alone is why lots of morning shows flame out when they get syndicated. But so far B&J are doing OK.

Not to mention, if they are syndicated on a country music station, they have to make any music/celebrity news (somewhat) meaningful to country listeners. Doing so will likely take away something from the local show.

^^^^^ we all know that. We are told that over and over and over again.

But the 6+ numbers give us something to talk about.

Where are Brooke & Jubal not in double digits in July? They’re in double digits and #1 by a long shot with A25-54, W25-54, A18-49, W18-49, M18-49, A18-34, W18-34, and M18-34. The only other station in double digits is KHTP in one demo (W18-34).

I doubt Hubbard is worried when mornings are up 9% year to year with Women 25-54, 20% with Women 18-49 and 22% with Women 18-34. The only area they’ve seen some loss is in men demos (M25-54 mostly), but they’re still #2. This is due to a big panel shift in May – lots more men, lots more older rock listeners. KISW is up in mornings over the last 3 months and KJR-FM is as well.

Also ford, I doubt you’ll be hearing country references on KQMV in AMD because they have one country affiliate in some two bit Florida market. You’re crazy or just ignorant if you believe that.

The real story over the past 5 months is the rise of KHTP thanks to those KUBE rhythmic refugees.

I agree that there will be no country references, but calling West Palm Beach, a Top 50 PPM market "two bit" is going a bit far. Yes, it is smaller than Seattle which is ranked 13th, but it is not insignificant... and it will be a key to determining whether the show can fit outside the core format, just as putting them on a rhythmic CHR in San Antonio is another test of the fit.

I'm not sure KTFM is really a test of being out of format. If that thing is classified as rhythmic it's so pop-leaning it could easily fit under the mainstream umbrella, and I think that's how it's being marketed.
