Friends was smart enough to file for the calls a couple of weeks before announcing them, so someone else couldn't file for them and hold them hostage. I'm reminded of a university that bought another station in a contentious sale, announced the new calls before filing for them, and then had a religious group bury them on a CP hoping that they'd write a big check.

The branding is 88.5 Connects... 88.5 connects you to jazz, blues, and news. It works. But yeah, you probably only want to say KNKX at the top of the hour and you probably wouldn't put them in a URL because written out it's too close to kink. Which is in Portland, anyway. ;)

But it looks like they got control of knkx.org two days ago. So there you have it.
