Globe:Dennis' days at WEEI mornings, numbered?

I caught it when they used it on the 11:00 news, no bombshells, no finger pointing but he did have opinions about his former co-workers but they were guarded... 'a columnist who does radio, he should write more' was the paraphrase of one comment.

he was quite subdued IMHO, he said he was sick of getting up in the middle of the night to go to work among other things, and when he was asked about his sobriety he said he has 17 months without relapse... good for him. ODAAT !

The Metco Gorilla game up as one of the low points of his career, and he said when you are doing 4 hours of unscripted radio every morning sometimes you are going to say something stupid.

But my take of it: he held back, he did not burn the bridge, and he just really wants to have a normal life outside of radio

Listening this morning during the Jimmy Fund broadcast and things sounded very respectful. Dennis interviewed Minihan about his parents having cancer and it was engaging and empathetic. Good radio. Maybe John Dennis really was tired and rich enough to move on. Either that or this is the best example of PR crisis management I have ever seen. A 20 year Boston radio institution ends and it's like nothing ever happened.

Sometime today the Twitter name "DandCShow" became "KirkAndCallahan." With the end of the Radio-Telethon, guess they've renamed the show?
