Points of interest, at least to me...

KODA is bumped from the top spot by 102-9.

Nearly a point jump for The Beat, yet they took nothing away from The Box. 97-9 up .2.

KSBJ continues the free fall. Below a 4 share now. Not a place most of us from Houston are accustomed to seeing 89-3 sitting.

92-1 KROI has completed its returned to the longtime 1.0 hover, but hey, it's cheap to run, right? What's next, Radio One? Time to spin that wheel again down in Seabrook.

You see that 0.4 for KQBU-FM, folks? Not for much longer, you won't. What to do, what to do, when it is forced to go back programming to Beaumont, because a hunk of Houston can't receive it anymore?

They know. Local staff can't make complaints. Up to corporate... Gonna be funny when all they pick up outside their studio is the translator...

Local staff can't make an objection against a translator. The objection, as the Hazard, KY, case illustrated, has to be done based on listener complaints about interference.

In any event, even the Hazard licensee filed objections via a recognized communications attorney.

Fantastic! As a listener of KQBU-FM, and with you being a part of Univision, I hereby lodge my formal complaint with you, David. Whatever you need me to do, whatever paperwork you need me to sign, have notarized, I will do it. Robertsez, the same pertains to you. I wish to file whatever paperwork that is required from the Beaumont end, to put a stop to this translator being allowed to overtake KQBU-FM's reception in Houston.

The same holds true for Chuck Tiller, if you're reading this, as well. Whatever you need from me to stop 100-7 from unnecessary interference. The camel's back is broken, gentlemen, and enough is enough. Drop me a PM with instructions on what you'll need to me to do on my part.

Edit to add: I guess Joe won't be the only one with enemies in the radio biz, and that's fine. I've got enough friends, anyway. This needs to be stopped and now.

You have my sincere support PurpleD......one can either be famous or infamous......SAVVY! The right kind of Chutzpah goes a long way!

The problem here, Purple, is that there was a 30 day window in which informal objections could be made. Once a CP is granted, its pretty much a done deal. As you see on the CDBS, the only translators that got held up are 105.3 and 97.3 -- and these are because there are informal objections. Once a station is built, you'll have a short window when they file for their license to cover to file interference complaints. At that point you will need pretty solid proof of interference -- signed statements, videos showing interference, etc. Its hard to get the FCC to rescind a CP or deny a license when the licensee has invested a substantial amount of money building out a station. It can be done, but its not easy.

I am calling BS on this one.

Again, the current benchmark case is WSGS in Hazard, KY. Cumulus built a translator for its WVLK in Lexington, way outside the protected WSGS contour. WSGS fringe area listeners complained after the facility was built and the FCC ordered it to cease operation.
