I had no idea the station formerly known as WDXZ-AM had become WJNZ-AM back in July and that their programming format has changed since then until I read about the changes at the Alabama Broadcast Media Page today since I rarely ever heard their programming due to their previous format lacking programs of interest to me and my reception of their signal being very weak due to my location (I was able to hear some of their programming today, by the way).
??? When did that happen?
Last time I ran through the AM band during the day was probably a week or two ago and it seemed like there was a sports talk show on.
I've heard sports past sunset - they've not been signing of at night - more recently than that...
I'm pretty close to Robertsdale, so I've been listening for a website or Facebook page or even any local advertising... Nothing yet. So far all I've heard is third-tier conservative talk shows.
They do have pre/post sunrise authority. They can be on 2 hours after the sun goes down with 100 watts
Yeah, somehow I doubt they're strictly adhering to that. I've heard them on after 10 pm, with a signal that would peel the paint off the walls. My CountyComm radio has shown them ~60 dBu after dark, and I'm just over 6 miles from the TX site. It barely registers that from WHEP on low power after dark and I'm close enough to see their tower.
I'll pass the word to them. Do you know what day that was?
Back in 2000 we programmed the controller for each month for Sunrise/Sunset times. It worked fine. I'm sure many changes since then.
