101.5 KCCL K-Hits

Well for starters when I do go out, I listen to them on my Walkman, And 98.1 Kiss-FM can't come in for me....Alot of times I hear some songs to listen to like Huey Lewis & the News Ect, I hear in Mono..But most in Stereo

Just give a listen, That's really strange to here songs in Mono & Stereo

I'll take a listen.

It's likely engineering may have been switching in or out a piece of processing or fiddling with the STL for some reason and was feeding a single channel to the stereo pilot at the the transmitter or possibly some songs may have been accidentally dubbed in mono to the automation if a switch on the board was selected assuming they are loading songs in an analog method. Could be umpteen reasons.

Generally speaking, if a Walkman fails to receive a station because of a mono broadcast, it tends to be a case of the signal being too weak for the stereo pilot to be received. That's more likely than songs being summed to mono in the automation.

I'm going to suggest listening with a good radio and headphones in an area where the signal strength is strong and see you hear the same thing.

I don't have the email of the PD

Not that hard to find, my friend. What I did was:

1. Google searched for "KCCL".
2. Clicked on the link that was obviously the station's site.
3. Selected "Connect" on their menu bar, then clicked on "Phone/Address".
4. Contact form on the left side of the screen, phone numbers on the right.

I mean come on, Mario, I know you have learning difficulties because you've shared that with us in other threads, but what I did should be obvious.

Still Songs in Mono

Didn't help emailing them a year ago, I guess they don't care

Wow, bringing back an old thread from back in the day. Admittedly, I don't listen to this station enough in environments that would allow me to make heads or tails if the source material is stereo. In the day and age of downloads, I'd be surprised to hear some of their audio files are mono.
